Groupe GSF
Founded in Paris in 1963. First international establishment: Canada, in 1983.
Give full value to the gestures that make the difference.
Groupe GSF purpose
Groupe GSF was founded on 1 April 1963, in a small office on rue de Trévise in Paris. Jean Louis Noisiez built it around a simple, demanding idea: professional cleaning is a business of trust, earned through closeness to the client and consistency in the work itself.
Growth followed France first — the regions from 1965, then a head office in Sophia Antipolis in 1978. Over the decades the Group built a deliberately dense network of branches, designed to keep decisions close to the sites being served.
In 1983, GSF crossed its borders for the first time. The country it chose was Canada. That first international establishment became GSF Canada and opened a Quebec chapter that has now run for more than forty years.
Today Groupe GSF brings together entities in several countries around the same building services trade and the same purpose. GSF Canada is its Canadian subsidiary: it applies that brand framework with its own teams, its own certifications and its own agreements.
This page describes the Group. To avoid any confusion, anything that operates at the international level carries the “Groupe GSF” label; Canadian proof is published separately and never borrows from Group recognitions.
A proximity model
Groupe GSF grew on one constant principle: stay close to the field. Rather than concentrating decisions, it multiplies local anchor points, with supervisory teams who know the buildings they serve. That model explains how GSF Canada organizes its Laval and Québec City establishments.
1983: Canada, the first international step
Choosing Canada as the first establishment outside France was not incidental: it tested whether the GSF model held up in another market, another climate and another regulatory framework. More than forty years later, GSF Canada operates in Quebec with four service families and locally structured teams.
What the Group brings to GSF Canada
Belonging to the Group gives access to a proven service culture, a brand framework, experience accumulated in demanding environments — healthcare, industry, food processing, aerospace — and a shared body of methods. It is a foundation, not a substitute for local competence.
What is Canadian, and what is not
Agreements, teams, supervision, payroll, licences and Canadian certifications belong to GSF Canada. Contracts are signed in Canada and delivered by Canadian employees. No Group figure is presented as Canadian performance, and the reverse holds as well.
Group recognitions
Groupe GSF earned the EcoVadis Platinum medal with a score of 91/100 in 2025, placing it in the top percentile of assessed companies. That recognition belongs to Groupe GSF and is not an assessment of Canadian operations. GSF Canada separately publishes its ISO 9001, ISO 14001, CIMS and B Corp certifications.
How to read figures on this site
Every figure we publish carries its scope. When information concerns the Group, it is labelled “Groupe GSF” and points to a Group source. When it concerns Canada, it belongs to GSF Canada, with the scope and validity dates of the underlying document. The same rule applies to certifications and awards.

French roots
From rue de Trévise to Sophia Antipolis, Groupe GSF built a branch network designed for proximity.

Canadian delivery
In Quebec, that model takes the form of two establishments and teams supervised close to the buildings they serve.
